Cup football this weekend as the greens make the trip to take on Runcorn Saxons in the League Cup.
FCC will be looking to get back to winning ways after a narrow 2–1 defeat to league leaders St Michaels last time out — a game that could easily have gone the other way. The performance was there, and the team will take confidence from that heading into this one.
It won’t be straightforward though. Runcorn play in a higher division and will pose a different kind of challenge, with a few key players also missing through injury for the greens. On paper it’s a tough ask.
But this is a cup tie away from home and this FCC side has shown what they’re capable of when they’re on it. Recent form has been strong and on their day they can give anyone a game.
Get across to Runcorn if you can — the more green in the crowd the better.
