Safeguarding

Safeguarding: Everyone’s Welfare Matters

FC Community acknowledges our responsibility to safeguard every person who joins our club – from the youngest players to the volunteers who’ve been here since the beginning. When people trust us with their safety and wellbeing, we take that responsibility seriously.

Football should be fun, it shouldn’t involve anyone dealing with inappropriate behavior or feeling unsafe in what should be their community space.

How We Make This Work

All our coaches, volunteers, and staff undergo proper safeguarding training and background checks. We have clear policies about appropriate conduct, and we enforce them consistently. If someone can’t treat others with basic respect, they won’t be part of our club.

Creating a safe environment requires everyone’s involvement. We encourage open communication – if something makes you uncomfortable or you’re concerned about someone’s welfare, we want to hear from you. Our designated safeguarding officers are trained to handle all concerns appropriately and confidentially.

When Issues Arise

We have clear procedures for reporting and addressing safeguarding concerns, working with relevant authorities when necessary. All reports are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly, with everyone’s welfare as our primary concern.

This isn’t about making football less enjoyable – it’s about ensuring everyone can enjoy it safely. When people trust you with their wellbeing, you get it right every time.

Please email welfare@fc.community if you have any concerns across any of our fixtures, community or social events.
