A place in the playoff final is up for grabs at Admiral Park this afternoon. Jay Maguire’s side host University of Liverpool in the semi final, kick off 2pm, with the winners going on to meet either Rainford or Burscough next.
The two sides know each other well. FC Community took the most recent meeting 3-1, with a 4-4 draw at the University before that. The students are physical, comfortable on the ball and capable of causing plenty of problems for the FCC defence. Plenty of goals between these teams already this season and no reason to expect anything different today.
For all that, this is the kind of afternoon a season builds towards. A home semi final, a manager who has the group ticking and ninety minutes between FC Community and a shot at silverware. The senior women have had a strong run through league and cup and there is plenty left to play for.
Bar and balcony will be open, the players will need every voice they can get and member turnout has been one of the stories of the season. Get down for two o’clock if you can.
