About Us

Our Story

FC Community was born in 2025 from a simple belief: football clubs should be built by the people who actively participate in them. We’re Liverpool’s community-owned football club, founded by  people who wanted to create something where membership means genuine involvement, not just watching from the sidelines.

From the beginning, we’ve been different. We’re not recruiting fans to support a distant team – we’re building a community of participants who play, volunteer, coach, and actively shape what we become together.

Our Values

Participation Over Consumption
We’re not looking for passive supporters – we want active participants. Every member contributes to what we’re building, whether through playing football, volunteering, coaching, or helping run community programs.

Women’s Football Excellence
Our women’s team is the cornerstone of everything we do. We need players committed to women’s football, supporters who understand they’re backing the main event, and community members who believe women’s sport deserves equal treatment.

Community Building Through Action
We strengthen Liverpool through active programs that need participant members: youth coaching requiring volunteers, walking football welcoming new players, refugee integration programs seeking community mentors, and social football sessions for all abilities.

Democratic Decision Making
Every member has equal opportunity to have their say. Participant members vote on items at our general meetings and on individual issues through our communications. These could be large expenses, choosing new kit designs, or decisions about community programs.

Flat Structure
FC Community operates without traditional hierarchies. Every participant member can join working groups that make their own decision. Instead of a distant board making top-down decisions, we use collaborative committees where representatives from different areas work together as equals to coordinate our activities.

Shared Ownership, Shared Responsibility
Every participant member is a co-owner who helps make decisions and takes responsibility for our club’s success. We build this together through genuine involvement, not distant ownership.

Local Roots, Local Participation
We’re embedded in Toxteth through people who live here, play here, volunteer here, and actively contribute to making our community stronger.

How You Can Participate

Join Our Women’s Team: We’re actively recruiting players of all abilities who want to be part of excellent women’s football and help build something special from the ground up.

Play Social Football: Our sessions welcome participants regardless of experience – it’s about community, inclusion, and the joy of playing together.

Participate in Walking Football: Join our sessions designed for participants who want to stay active and connected through football at a comfortable pace.

Want to help newcomers feel at home? Our refugee integration program uses football to help new arrivals settle into Liverpool. Because football really is the universal language.

Volunteer and Coach: Our youth programs and community initiatives need participant members who’ll contribute their time and skills to building something meaningful.

Help Build Programs: From refugee integration to community events, we need participants who’ll actively help develop and run initiatives that strengthen Toxteth.

Support Through Participation: Even our match-day supporters are participant members who contribute to the atmosphere, volunteer when needed, and help create the community feeling that makes Admiral Park special.

Our Vision

We’re proving that football clubs thrive when built by participant members rather than passive consumers. We’re creating something more valuable than a traditional club: a community hub where everyone has an active role in building something that serves local people.

Some of our most dedicated members had never kicked a ball before joining us – they just believed in building something that puts community first. Others are experienced players looking for a club that values what they bring. Many are neighbors who want to be part of something that brings people together rather than just taking their money.

This isn’t about being a “fan” of something distant that you have no control over. This is about being part of a community.

Governance & Fan Ownership:

Fan ownership means supporters collectively own the club through membership purchases. Each member gets one vote regardless of how much they contribute, making it democratic rather than wealth-based. Members elect the board, vote on major decisions at Annual General Meetings, and receive transparent financial reports. This model ensures the club serves the community's interests rather than external investors, creating a stronger connection between supporters and their club - you're not just a customer, you're an owner with real influence over your club's future.

Absolutely, every member gets one vote on club issues, either at the AGM or at Special meetings. Members can also put proposals forward to the membership.

While micromanaging of the club is handled by the steering group, members can propose ideas, join committees and help influence the overall direction of the football club.

Yes, members can attend AGM's and special meetings. Where attendance is not possible in person we will explore other digital options for members to attend.

Club Structure:

The club is run by our steering group which is made up of members of our various sub committees. While we have a chairman for league and FA regulations, no one person can hold sway over the rest of the club.

Our womens team will play in the Liverpool & womens youth league Division one for the forthcoming 2025/26 season.

All of our home games will be held at Admiral park in toxteth.
