Why We’re Growing Slowly (And Why That’s Actually Brilliant)
Look, we could probably get hundreds of members if we wanted to, but here’s the thing – we actually want to know your name when you turn up to Admiral Park, not just your membership number.
We want genuine conversations about community programs, people who’ll volunteer to help set up because it needs doing, and members who’ll still show up when we’re getting hammered 3-0 on a soggy Tuesday evening.
This isn’t about being exclusive – we’re not nearly posh enough for that. It’s about being intentional. We want members who’ll have ideas about youth coaching, who’ll get involved with our refugee integration programs, and who genuinely want to build something rather than just watch something.
We’d rather have 50 people who care enough to show up to meetings and actually contribute ideas than 500 people who sign up, forget about us, and never actually get involved.
Because once you’ve got the right foundation – people who actually care about the community we’re building – everything else becomes possible. Quality over quantity isn’t just our membership strategy, it’s our entire philosophy. We’d rather be really good than accidentally mediocre.
So we’re growing slowly, with people who get what community ownership actually means.
Both Annual and Monthly membership levels are available. Annual membership is £12 but we understand people may want to help our club and choose to pay more. That is why the monthly membership level is available to everyone.
